Age 3 through Kindergarten
A Special Note from Denise Boisvert...
The close of this school year is bittersweet, after 17 years of involvement with the Sunday Pre-School Program, first as a volunteer catechist, and for 11 years on staff, I am pleased to be handing off the duties of coordinating Sunday Pre-School and Children’s Liturgy to Sarah Gibbons, so that I may focus my attentions more fully to Parish Outreach.
Over the years, I have loved getting to know the children and their families. I will always treasure the sweet little faces of pre-schoolers that have grown into confident kindergartners, lively grade-school children, ambitious teenagers, and mature adults. Watching this transition and getting to know your families has been one of the greatest joys and gifts of my role at St. Jude. You have touched my heart in countless ways, but perhaps never more profoundly than with the sweet smile of recognition on your little ones face, as they caught my eye sitting behind them at Mass or even at the grocery store. Those sweet smiles are treasures that will last a lifetime.
I am eternally grateful for the many catechists and aides who have served this program with dedication and devotion over the years. You have truly been a blessing to me and our program. I am especially grateful for those who will continue on to support Sarah in her coordination efforts in the coming years.
Finally, a thank you to the parents. Thank you for allowing us the privilege to travel this faith journey with your family. Your friendly smiles, kind words, constructive criticism and your active participation in building the future of the Church, are all treasures that instill hope in my heart. I have learned and grown through your children and through you. I look forward to continuing to serve your families through my continuing roles in Baptism Preparation, MOMS and as I focus my efforts more fully on Parish Outreach. I am so grateful for all of you and for the important role you play in our Parish Family.
Coordinator for 2019-2020 - Sarah Gibbons -
The Sunday Pre-School/Kindergarten Program serves children from age 3 through Kindergarten, offering an introduction to the Catholic Faith through fun lessons including Bible stories, music, crafts and prayer.
They will become familiar with Bible stories and will be introduced to God's unconditional love for us.
Sunday School takes place during the 9am Mass on scheduled days.
Procedures for Class Sessions:
Parents will bring their Sunday School child to 14 class sessions from September to April.
Children may be dropped off to their assigned Sunday-School classroom between 8:50am and 9:00am.
Sunday-School families are permitted to park in any lot and enter the school through the north or west entrances.
Catechists will provide all necessary materials for the children, therefore we ask children not to bring anything to class with them.
We ask parents to pick up their children at their classrooms immediately following the 9am Mass.
