The Season of Creation is the annual Christian celebration to pray and respond together to the cry of Creation. This year’s theme is Living Water. There is a thirst in our world. A thirst for peace in places marked by war. A thirst for justice where creation has been exploited. A thirst for hope when rivers run dry, forests disappear, and communities wonder what the future will hold.
This is where the Season of Creation 2026 begins. Not just on September 1, but when we allow God to awaken that thirst within us. Living Water is more than an image. It is God’s invitation. In the vison of the prophet Ezekial, Ezekial 47:9 and 12, a small stream flows from God’s temple. At first, it seems insignificant. Yet with every step it grows deeper until it becomes a river that restores everything it touches. When we come together in Christ, rivers of living water flow from us too, for the healing of creation. Perhaps this is how ecological conversion begins, not with extraordinary action, but with a heart willing to step into God’s river.
