If this is your first child to be baptized here at St. Jude
If this is your first child, or if this is your first child to be baptized here at St. Jude, you are asked to attend one Baptism Preparation Session.
Baptism Preparation helps parents to enrich their understanding of the meaning and importance of the sacrament of Baptism in the life of their child and to prepare for the day their child will be Baptized. After attending the session you may call to set up a date for your child's Baptism.
We recommend that if possible, you attend the session before the birth so that both father and mother are able to attend. We will be discussing your role as parents in bringing up your child in the Catholic Church, the powerful symbols that are used in the sacrament, a walk through the Baptism Liturgy, and a review of what to expect when you come to have your child Baptized at St. Jude.
If you have not previously registered as a member of St. Jude Parish, we ask that you do so as part of the Baptism preparation process. When you call to register for the Baptism Preparation Session let the office know that you also need to register for the parish. Someone will contact you shortly to get you registered.
Baptism preparation sessions are held on various Mondays & Thursdays from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in Franciscan Hall. The parents only need to attend one of these sessions.
