featuring John Donahue-Grossman

John Donahue-Grossman is a gifted story teller who inspires others with his passionate faith.  For more than 30 years, John has served the Kingdom of God as a Religion Teacher, Parish Youth Minister and Retreat Director.  His service to the Church as been honored with an Apostolic Blessing from Pope John Paul II, The bishop Sartain Award, The Columbian Squires Award from the Knights of Columbus and he was named Who's Who among Teachers in America at two separate Catholic Schools.  John earned a Youth Ministry Certificate from Loyola University and studied theology at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, Illinois.  He has been marred to Laureen  since 1987.  Together they have 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren.

Light refreshments will be served following each evening presentation.  Babysitting is available in Franciscan Hall Room !

Monday, February 25th: "You Are the Light of the World"                     7-8:30 pm

Scripture Focus: Matthew 5:13-16- Salt & Light

Summary: God has always called imperfect people.  John affirms God's use of our human brokenness, sin, and imperfection to manifest God's mercy, love and forgiveness.

Tuesday, February 26th: "Do As I have Done for You"                            7-8:30 pm

Scripture Focus: John 13:1-17 - Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet

Summary: Jesus, the master, teaches us by showing us the way of service.  The washing of the disciples' feet is the ultimate model directing us to follow Jesus through service to the last, the lost and the least.

Wednesday, February 27th: "Called to Discipleship"                            7- 8:30 pm

Scripture Focus: John 21: 15-19 Jesus' Commissioning of Peter

Summary: God calls us to more than showing up for Mass on the weekend.  In fact, the final words of Mass begin with "go!"  The call to discipleship is a call to action.  John provides real-life ways to live our faith with our families, those we work with, and in the communities in which we live.

Sunday, February 24th - Afternoon Teen Mission: Catholic Pizza Pie

Come taste and see how young Catholics can be Missionary Disciples.  Through stories, drama and cool prayer John will share the ingredients of our faith that gives us a "Catholic" discipleship flavor.  Be ready to laugh, be inspired and be challenged.
