“The days in which we live now require heroic Catholicism, not casual Catholicism. We can no longer be Catholics by accident, but instead be Catholics by conviction.” -- Bishop Daniel R. Jenky

Why Faith Formation? At St. Jude we believe faith formation is a lifelong journey. We make this journey together with our families, with our friends, and with our community. Pope Francis told the Church at the World Youth Day, Rio, 2013: "Today, we need a Church capable of walking at people's side, of doing more than simply listening to them; a Church which accompanies them on their journey ... a Church which realizes that the reasons why people leave also contain reasons why they can eventually return. But we need to know how to interpret, with courage, the larger picture." We strive to be this church.

Family Prayer offered by Pope Francis

on the Feast of the Holy Family, 2013.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in you we contemplate the splendor of true love, to you we turn with trust. Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that our families too may be places of communion and prayer, authentic schools of the Gospel and small domestic churches. Holy Family of Nazareth, may families never again experience violence, rejection and division: may all who have been hurt or scandalized find ready comfort and healing. Holy Family of Nazareth, make us once more mindful of the sacredness and inviolability of the family, and its beauty in God’s plan. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, graciously hear our prayer. Amen
